My Visit to England

August/September 2022

n 2022, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to England, a country steeped in history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes. From the bustling streets of London to the serene countryside, my journey was nothing short of magical.

My adventure began in London, the heart of England and a city that never ceases to amaze. Exploring the iconic landmarks such as the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, and the majestic Big Ben was a dream come true. Strolling through the vibrant streets of Covent Garden and indulging in the diverse culinary scene left me with unforgettable memories. The British Museum, with its vast collection of historical artifacts, was a highlight that provided deep insights into the rich heritage of not just England, but the world.

Beyond London, I ventured into the charming countryside, where picturesque villages and rolling green hills captivated my soul. The Cotswolds, with its honey-colored stone cottages and peaceful ambiance, felt like stepping into a storybook. Bath, famous for its Roman baths and stunning Georgian architecture, offered a perfect blend of history and relaxation.

One of the most awe-inspiring experiences was visiting Stonehenge. Standing before this prehistoric marvel, I was struck by the mystery and grandeur of its towering stones. The atmosphere was almost otherworldly, leaving me in deep contemplation about the secrets it holds.

No trip to England would be complete without experiencing its culinary delights. From enjoying a traditional English breakfast to indulging in fish and chips by the seaside, every meal was a delight. Afternoon tea in a quaint tea room was a quintessentially British experience that I highly recommend to any traveler.

Reflection

Reflecting on my journey, England left an indelible mark on my heart. I was very fortunate to visit prior to

Queen Elizabeth's II passing (April 21, 1926 - Sept, 8th 2022)
The blend of historical grandeur, modern vibrancy, and warm hospitality made my 2022 trip an
unforgettable one. I look forward to returning one day to uncover even more of this magnificent country.

Trip Highlights

I have plenty of photos, feel free to reach out to see more!

Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace is a royal residence in London, and the administrative headquarters of the monarch of the United Kingdom. Located in the City of Westminster, the palace is often at the centre of state occasions and royal hospitality. After my visit, Queen Elizabeth II passed away just three days later.

Hyde Park

Hyde Park is a 350-acre, historic Grade I-listed urban park in Westminster, Greater London. A Royal Park, it is the largest of the parks and green spaces that form a chain from Kensington Palace through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, via Hyde Park Corner and Green Park, past Buckingham Palace to St James's Park.

You will also find a tribute to the late Princess Diana.

Stonehenge

Stonehenge is a prehistoric megalithic structure on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, England, two miles west of Amesbury. It was very awesome to see in person, however, they are just really really big rocks.

King's Guard

The King's Guard are sentry postings at Buckingham Palace and St James's Palace, organized by the British Army's Household Division. This photo I took while at Windsor Castle during a Guard March.

Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle is a royal residence at Windsor in the English county of Berkshire, about 25 miles west of central London. It is strongly associated with the English and succeeding British royal family, and embodies almost a millennium of architectural history, including the tombs of royalty.

Westminister Abbey

Westminster Abbey, formally titled the Collegiate Church of Saint Peter at Westminster, is an Anglican church in the City of Westminster, London, England. Since 1066, it has been the location of the coronations of 40 English and British monarchs and a burial site for 18 English, Scottish, and British monarchs.
